BioCARS is now welcoming new users interested in doing time-resolved experiments on the recently upgraded 14-ID beamline, which features state-of-the-art capabilities for polychromatic, Laue diffraction.
For users accustomed to monochromatic data, Laue data will require a new approach. To help users see in advance how Laue data processing works, BioCARS has published a new step-by-step tutorial for processing a Laue dataset.
This tutorial uses one of the most recent datasets collected on the new 14-ID beamline to demonstrate practical Laue data processing in detail. The original Laue images and command scripts used in the tutorial are available for download, so users can experiment with manipulating the data further themselves. The intermediate results and statistics obtained during the processing are analyzed in the tutorial, and some tips and strategies for avoiding problems are suggested.
