Outreach Mission Statement
ChemMatCARS is committed to investing in the people who will drive the research of the future.
Our facility is engaged in an aggressive, long-range plan for educating students and early career researchers, both domestic and international, in the area of synchrotron techniques applied to chemistry and material science.
Toward this goal we collaborate with the educational, scientific, and international communities.
Recognition
Early in 2010, ChemMatCARS director P. James Viccaro received an award from the U.S. Department of Energy in recognition of his dedication as a mentor to Janet Soltau of the University of Vermont. Janet was also mentored by ChemMatCARS staff members Binhua Lin, Brian Leahy, and K.I. Kim, who together supervised her project on the surface morphology of monolayers of silver nanoparticles. more ›
