Advanced Crystallography Workshop 2008 (December 3-5, 2008)
This workshop introduces experienced crystallographers to the upgraded capabilities at ChemMatCARS for microcrystallography, focusing on modulation structures and microcrystals; lectures, data collection, data analysis and expert consultation are featured.

LSXS 2007 - School on Liquid Surface X-ray Scattering: Theory and Experimental Methods (November 7-9, 2007)
Aimed at graduate students and postdocs, this workshop offered a combination of classroom and experimental work to introduce participants to the range of phenomena and properties that can be studied with synchrotron-based liquid surface x-ray scattering.

Scattering from Liquid Surfaces and Interfaces (Workshop 5 at the 2005 Users Meeting for the Advanced Photon Source and the Center for Nanoscale Materials)
Understanding of interfacial properties and thermodynamics is fundamental in many research areas, including biological structure-function, molecular recognition, interfacial self-assembly, molecular engineering of soft interfaces, and molecular transport across interfaces. The application of surface-sensitive synchrotron x-ray scattering techniques has led to a major advance in the investigation of phenomena at liquid surfaces and interfaces. This workshop highlighted recent work on liquid surfaces and interfaces, including lipid-protein interactions at the air/water interface, organic/inorganic Langmuir monolayer systems, electrified liquid/liquid interfaces, liquid metal-X interfaces, surfaces of polymer liquids, and pure liquid surfaces/interfaces.

Small-Angle X-ray Scattering at the APS (Workshop 7 at the 2004 Users Meeting for the Advanced Photon Source)
This half-day workshop featured talks highlighting scientific programs currently making use of SAXS capabilities at the APS and concluded with a moderated discussion on various topics, including instrument design enabling simultaneous SAXS and WAXS measurements, area detection for small angle scattering at a third generation source, liquid sample handling (improving sample throughput and normalization).
