Changing Camera Length

SAXS Camera A high precision mechanical system and rapid pump-down system allow for easy changing of camera length. It currently takes about 20 minutes to vent the flight tube, change length, re-evacuate and re-align the camera. Available camera lengths are approximately: 0.5, 2 and 7 meters.

  • Minimum Q (at 1.5Å and 7 meters) is about 0.0015Å-1 (see Q Calculator)
  • Maximum Q (at 0.4Å and 0.5 meters) is about 3 Å-1 although shorter detector to sample distances are possible
