Application Process
The workshop will be limited to 18 attendees. Participants will be selected to represent a range of research areas, sample types, levels of experience, institutional roles, and locations.
Applicants will be notified by e-mail of acceptance by October 15.
Successful applicants will pay a $50 registration fee.
Further details about the program and logistics will be sent with the acceptance letter.
On Oct. 29, registration was extended to November 7. Registrants applying after the extension will be notified of acceptance on November 7.
Dates
- October 1 – Application and initial sample specification
- October 15 – Acceptance notice sent
- October 21 – APS registration due (new users only)
- ~November 1 – Final sample specification (will be requested by organizers)
- November 19 – Onsite housing reservations -- EXTENDED TO NOV. 24--
- December 1 – Sample to arrive at ChemMatCARS
Steps
1. Complete personal application. --APPLICATIONS CLOSED Nov. 7--
2. Complete crystal proposal(s) — up to three.
For participants who have not worked at APS before:
3. Register as an APS user as soon as possible. (Early registration is especially important if you are not a U.S. citizen.) Because you will be doing hands on work, APS registration and training are required.
4. Check that your institution has a APS user agreement. If it isn't listed, follow the instructions at that page to begin the process as soon as possible.
5. Pay registration fee. The registration fee of $50 is due in advance. Payment can be made in one of two ways:
