Installing Demeter
- Linux installation instructions
Generic Unix instructions which should work on any Linux distribution and most other unixes.
- Windows
- Most users will want to download the installer package. This will live happily alongside an installation of the old versions of Athena and Artemis.
- Windows installer package
Go to https://github.com/bruceravel/demeter/downloads and download the file demeter-with-strawberry-perl-r#.exe where # is the current release number.
- Notes

After downloading that file, double click to launch the installer and answer all the questions.
After a crash, each program writes a log file in %APPDATA%\demeter. This file should be submitted with a bug report.
On Windows XP, %APPDATA% = C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\
On Windows 7, %APPDATA = C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming
- If you already have Perl installed on your Windows computer, you may not want to install this package -- contact Bruce.
Compiling Ifeffit using MinGW and MSYS for use with Strawberry.
