This page has some code for using Epics and Python, Epics on Linux, and Epics and Mac OS X

Epics and Python:

More Epics and Python software can be found at the GSECARS Python Library

Epics Clients (medm, striptool) for Mac OS X:

Download and install EpicsApps_MacOSX.dmg. This has clients for medm, striptool, and adls appropriate for GSECARS. You just need to set EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST to point to your network, and provide your own adl files.

Epics Binaries for Linux:

Here is a minimal set of linux binaries for the Epics base and extension software, including medm, channel access, and enough libraries to allow Epics CA and Ezca clients to be built and run. Built for linux 2.4 (on a RedHat 7.1 system using gcc2.96, and used on Redhat 7.1 to 7.3). This extracts to /usr/local/epics/, and occupies 26Mb.
