Here are source kits and binaries for using Epics Channel Access from Python. The EpicsCA interface provides a simple-to-use Epics PV class, as well as a simple emulation of caget() and caput() functions built on top of this.

Build instructions (tested for Linux and Darwin):
1. Set the Environmental Variable EPICS_BASE to point to the EPICS base directory (say, /usr/local/epics).
2. python setup.py install
Windows Installer (python 2.5): EpicsCA-2.1.5.win32-py2.5.exe
