Bruce's Nepal Photos

Here is my complete collection of photos from my recent trip to Nepal with my brother (Jeff), my sister-in-law (Cristelle), and my nephew (Gabe) to adopt my precious new neice, Naomi. Naomi was adopted from the state-run Bal Mandir orphanage in Kathmandu. She was 14 or 15 months old when she became ours (or, perhaps more appropriately, we became hers). We are using October 18, 2002 as her birthdate. That date was taken from the police documents committing her to the care of Bal Mandir. Although Naomi had some minor health problems coming from the orphange, she responded quickly to personalized medical care. Within days she had transformed from a distant and subdued orphanage baby into a happy, healthy, curious, affectionate toddler. We are lucky in the extreme to welcome this lovely new member into the family.

I carried a nifty, new digital camera with me and snapped many shots of the kids and of the amazing things we all saw in Nepal. I have collected my photos into a variety of albums organized by theme. The best place to start is with the "select" album. These are 30 of the best photos I took and give a nice overview of our time in Nepal. All in all there are about 250 photos collected her. Some of the photos appear in two or more of the albums.

Each album is organized into two frames. On the left you will see a skinny frame with a stack of thumbnail-sized photos. If you click on the link directly below the thumbnail, the full-sized photo will be displayed in the larger frame on the right. These albums use a tiny javascript to display the photos, so you will need to enable javascript in your browser to enjoy my albums. (If that last sentence makes no sense to you, then just try it. If everything works -- no problem!)
