WinXAS is not IFEFFIT!
I occassionally get email from people who mistakenly believe that there is some connection between the program WinXAS by Thorsten Ressler and the programs FEFFIT and IFEFFIT by Matt Newville.
While it is true that both WinXAS and IFEFFIT can make use of theoretical standards computed by FEFF to analyze EXAFS data, that is where the similarity stops. These are different program written by different developers. The fact that there is a menu item in WinXAS labeled "FEFF Fit" should not be construed as proof that there is some deeper connection between these two programs.
By extension, there is no relationship between my programs ATHENA and ARTEMIS and Thorsten's WinXAS. Again, these are different programs written by different developers.
Just as you would not pester Thorsten with questions about IFEFFIT, ATHENA, or ARTEMIS, you really should not pester Matt or myself with questions about WinXAS.
